PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. – Avamere at Port Townsend, an independent and assisted living community, hosted the East Jefferson Fire Rescue team for a fun afternoon of ice cream and learning.
“The EMTs here in Jefferson County do so much to support our residents,” stated Lois Jasmer, Marketing Director at Avamere at Port Townsend. “We like to give our residents and families a chance to show their appreciation.”
On August 1, Avamere at Port Townsend staff and residents treated the East Jefferson Fire and Rescue team to hugs and ice cream while the EMTs showed residents how to fight fires. A few residents even put out a fire with an EMT’s guidance.
“It was wonderful to hear how well prepared our first responders are,” one resident said.
Many residents expressed they had fun with the EMTs and getting the chance to meet them face-to-face.
Residents at Avamere at Port Townsend enjoy activities just like this frequently in their senior living community. The staff provide enjoyable activities aimed to enhance their residents’ lives, including games that offer opportunities to stimulate the mind and body.
